What is special about it
The website is updated daily by up to 8 journalists, both inhouse and externally, populating a wide range of news archives and event calendars with up-to-date information. A customised template structure manages all entries to ensure a unified look and feel of images and wording.
Extensions used
The website uses the banner, content slider, newstwitter, subcolumns, tag_news and YahooWeather extensions.
"The Riviera Times" is a leading English language newspaper for the French - Italian Riviera and the Principality of Monaco. The website was designed to help repositioning the brand at the Cote d'Azur, and to provide readers with more ways of connecting to the region.
The new website provides users with an online subscription management tool for both the printed and digital edition of The Rivera Times, personalised access to news and events from Marseille to Genova and the possibility to place classified ads. From January 2010 the site will also offer a custom built "pay-per-article" service, which allows readers to comfortably pay for reading selected news stories at their convenience and interest, and pay through a unique "top-up" system.
To strengthen and widen the newspaper's ties to their readers, the website also automatically pushes selected news stories to followers on Twitter.
