Sends a status update to Twitter when you publish news.

This extension can send a status update to Twitter when you create a news item.

Setup

You must enable Twitter per news archive and enter your username and password. Be aware that credentials are entered in clear text, but they are hidden after you save the settings. They are still in there however, as long as you do not change it.

Usage

You can now choose per news item if you want to send a Twitter message. If you do not enter a custom message, the first 120 characters of news teaser or message will be taken. You can also define if you want to twitt instantly, or schedule the message. If you schedule, the module checks each hour if there are news to twitt and sends them when they are published. This is especially useful if you are using the "Show from" date. Additionally you can choose to include a link to the news item on your home page.
