Hi,
i wanna request three more things for the newsletter module
- possibility to add a full name in database (just the name; so you can write "hello %name%" - "hello john smith,")
yes, i've been looking about this in forum, but could'nt found an answer to this.
why: i think it's much better to speak with the full-name to the subscribers
- admin can decide the newsletters-sender-address, especially for the subscribe & unsubscribe-option, there is always the admin-email-send
why: in multidomain, it's not really possible to make a different to the sites
- possibility to send newsletters in steps (means to start the script every "x"r ecipients new; x=option in backend, admin decides)
why: some servers breaks after 10, 20, 30 seconds - execution_time

Your solution needs additional field or fileds in registered module, so Leo in this post (point #3) describe why is only email adress:
leo:
[...] 70% of the users do not sign up to newsletters if they have to provide more than their e-mail address. [...]
So in other hand you can use "hello ##email##".

Yes, that i read already, but in my opinion, it looks not that professional and it's not personal.
I mean, the full name should not be necessary to sign up, but possible.
Especially if you write newsletters to your personal customers.

zooooooom.. .
just wanna bump up this thread.
especially second part, newsletters/system-admin-sender-address (what a long word *g*)
- maybe to define an admin-address for "each new website(root)" ?
Without this, it is very hard to manage more than one website in one installation, cause always the same (defined) email-address is send (for examples in newsletter-subscribe)
thx, juergen

Hi Jürgen,
I like the idea of assigning an admin e-mail address to each website root page.

Hi @all,
I´d prefer a free editable reply adress for each Newsletter.
Reason: I need to send different mails from the same domain. Having different "reply-to" adresses, it makes it quite easy, to handle the responses. I.e. you will send a mail for the sales department and for the accounting office. Why should the admin handle the responses (sorting, forwarding,...)?
I know, that you can set up filters. But this is additional work, too. And best work is planning to avoid future additional work, I think.
Nevertheless it wuold be usefull, to have each site root with an own admin mail adress. Same reasons: Why does "admin@abc" answers a question, sent to "admin@xyz" ?
Greetings,
NoSi

I'd like to bump this and see if we can get someone to add FirstName and LastName to the news letter module. It would be better to keep them separate as normally when you email someone you don't say Hi James Brown, you say Hi James. And if you want to you can just put the two fields in.
Anyone willing to take this on? I might even pay you if you are!!
