While I was working on the project website today, I accidentally loaded the music academy template and overwrote all tables (yes, those things sometimes happen to me, too). I restored the most recent backup from 3:30 am this morning, so unfortunately, we have lost the data of the last 17 hours.
This especially affects developers and translators, who worked on the extension repository today. There is no way to restore this data and I apologize profusely.
If there are any ramifications, please contact me via e-mail.

I've done that before. Maybe its time to remove that silly feature from the install.php script OR move it to another file/location. Its a nice feature, but perhaps you can move it further down, or make that section explode on [+] icon or something like that.
Another suggestion would be to have a double-warning system before executing this command.
Usually this is the FIRST file I delete, and everytime I do a live-up, it puts it back, making it possible to remove all the data again. Maybe just remove the example.sql template from the distribution will be a great help with this.

@Thyon, I agree with you, this feature should be to another location...

I'd vote for the double/triple check with the name of the importet template in big bold letters
. (Re-) Moving this feature is no option.

I have added another check to the install tool. The template drop-down menu now has an empty option at the top, so you first have to choose a template from the drop-down and then confirm the JavaScript warning. So even if you accidentally confirm the warning like I did yesterday (I actually wanted to update the database), it will only say "Please choose a template file".

I feel your pain, Leo. This just served as a confirmation, however, that the rumors about you being a robotron who does not make a mistake are indeed false.
Thanks for your hard work!
